One gains a certain perspective as one grows older. All the foolishness of the young is in the rearview mirror of life. The wonders of a given day are more pronounced, and inevitably we look ahead to calmer days when life can be enjoyed at a slower pace.
Living Simple is about a slower pace. It is about enjoying life at its most basic level. It is about embracing those things that are truly important in life, and pushing aside the distractions of fluff. It is about realizing that money can’t buy happiness, and it is about realizing that no man is an island and we all need to learn how to live in harmony as a community.
I have nothing against anyone who wants to make more money. I just wish they would focus on the good they could do in life rather than just hoard money and possessions. There has to be a balance in life; there has to be some focus on others and humanity. Otherwise, what is the point? To accumulate? That is not much of a point for living and quite frankly it is beneath each of us and our higher calling.
