Bev and I had just finished our nightly cribbage game, and we were reviewing our weekend. Would you like to review it with us?
We built two more raised beds for the garden next spring. We finished building our lettuce table, which we discovered was going to be too tall for practical work. Tossing around solutions, which included shortening all our legs, we finally decided to just dig four holes for the four legs and shorten it that way. A minimum of effort and no cost!
Let’s see, what else did we do? We went on our chore and errand run…..we treated ourselves to a Dilly Bar on Saturday and an ice cream cone on Sunday….we taped plastic up on all the windows to winterize them….and we barbecued chicken yesterday.
We had two killer games of Cribbage, and I’m proud to say I lost both games (in fact, I got my ass kicked both times)…..and we went for a walk on Saturday and said hello to fourteen neighbors along the walk in beautiful Indian summer weather.
In other words, we did nothing spectacular, but by the end of Sunday we both agreed it had been a wonderful weekend. It was spent doing the simple things….it was spent with people we love….and it was spent Living Simple!
