Say Goodbye To Stress During the Holidays

loving life on a hikeStress for the holidays?  What stress?  One of the benefits of Living Simple is that stress is a thing of the past.

Do you think I’m kidding? Do you think I can’t possibly be telling the truth?  Well, the only way to find out is to start living simply yourself.

I do not have false expectations about the holidays.  I have budgeted my money for gifts, and I will stick to the budget.  I will not use credit cards.  We will spend the holidays with family and friends in a simple celebration of love. We will play games, and laugh, and share in our love for each other.

And isn’t that what the holidays are all about?

This is not a time when more is better?  Love is not defined by the number of gifts that you give to your loved ones; love is defined by the amount of love you give to your loved ones!  Duh!

Do you know how life becomes complicated?  We complicate it!  Again, duh!  Just as we have complicated it, we can also choose to simplify it.  The choice is ours; it is always ours.

  1. Bill, I am with you on the whole budget thing and last year Kevin and I decided to start a separate checking account for the holidays. We put $50 every paycheck in that account and I ended up with over $800 to spend on family and the holidays, which truly helped a bit in the de-stressing department. Couldn’t agree though with you more and this 🙂 🙂

  2. Bill, as this has not been a “good” year by any means, Christmas is going to be reserved to smiles and kind words. No stress involved at all. If they don’t like it, they can go out and spend their own money on buying themselves something to make them feel better. lol I’m with you, my friend!

  4. Too true Bill! It is stressful trying to find the “perfect” Christmas present for people, but that’s not what it’s about. At least not this year. Wine from the extras we got at the festival and homemade cookies – that’s what people are getting this year, and if they don’t like it – tough! Lol. Love your message!
